Lately I've been focusing on writing strong post titles and I came across this great post on Skalliewag.org. The post is about how to write titles that fill a want or need.

Crafting strong post titles is essential when trying to drive traffic to your site. Ever write a post that you were sure was going to be popular only to find that very few people actually read it? If a post has a weak or vague post title, most readers won't feel compelled to read the entire post.

Skellie wrote this amazing tutorial that focuses on writing post titles that fulfill a reader's wants or needs. Here is her main point:

I believe that whenever someone is reading content online, unless they are idly passing time, they are making the choice to read something because it might satisfy a core want.
